If you’ve just upgraded to 8.1 Update 3 from anything earlier, you’re in a for a treat the first time you sync with TDS.  Every single item has changed!

Looking at the shot above, you can see EVERY single item is different, because there’s a new field called “created” that now has a value.  Don’t be alarmed. Simply head on over to the TDS download page and grab version 5.5.0.14 or higher.  There’s a very specific fix in here:

Fixed issue with Sitecore 8 update 3 “created” property in the .item file

After installing this TDS update, lo and behold, the created field is not considered in the deltas and your “changed” items go back to the way the used to.
